Stone to Flesh Full-Time Missionaries in LA

Stone to flesh missionaries

Stone to Flesh is a community based out of LA that focuses on healing, equipping, and discipling lay adults and church leaders. We are now running School of the Heart, our discipleship school, in 3 states. Only 30 percent of Americans who were raised Catholic are still practicing. Discipleship is more necessary now than ever. Our students receive rich scripture-based teaching founded on the writings of Church doctors and the apostolic and desert fathers. They experience a renewal of their identity and learn to be led by the Holy Spirit. We train them in evangelization and community building that reflects early Christian life.

Stone to Flesh’s mission is to heal the brokenhearted, equip believers, and release disciples. We lead a nine-month discipleship and formation school called School of the Heart. The nonprofit if based off of Ezekiel 36:26: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

Stone to Flesh Full-time Missionaries are funded 100% by your generous support. We spend about 40 hours weekly on our mission. Once a week all the full-time missionaries spend three hours together in prayer, training, and sharing a meal. To become a full-time missionary at Stone to Flesh Community you need to go through nine months of training at the School of the Heart and sometimes, depending on your situation, through an Internship phase.

Missionary experience, Mission, and Vision

Vince and Teah are married and they both serve as Stone to Flesh full-time missionaries, sharing the Gospel to those furthest from the Church and training leaders in School of the Heart, their ministry's 9-month discipleship school, in Ministry Schools, and Alpha.

Growing up in the greater Los Angeles area, Vince has seen the culture make so many people he knows hardened, isolated, addicted, depressed, and uncertain of their identity. As a missionary kid, Teah experienced hands-on discipleship and sees the need in LA for believers to have access to consistent quality discipleship as adults. Their mission is "to reflect Christ through evangelization, discipleship and the arts" and their vision is “to see a lasting community of true worshippers, running together after God’s heart.”

About Vince and Teah

Vince

Vincent is the music director for Stone to Flesh. After years of working in the Los Angeles music scene, he experienced a profound renewal in Christ. He began devoting his time to silent prayer and community with youth and young adult ministry. He left music completely for a time in order to pursue God's will for him from within. Slowly he felt called back into worship and songwriting.

In 2019, Vincent quit his job to become a full-time missionary. He now leads worship at Stone to Flesh and disciples others in the School of the Heart and Community. He has a heart for evangelization and outreach to the lost and brokenhearted. As a missionary, he pursues the isolated and brings them into communal settings and he invites others into God's presence through worship. He also guides and teaches prayer in schools and parishes. He is currently writing and recording an album.

He desires to see deeper interior conversion in the hearts of many through personal and communal prayer, Sacred Scripture, and the arts. Vince is the Music Director for Stone to Flesh and Production Supervisor, leads School of the Heart outreaches and does school and parish outreaches.

The greatest disease in the West today is not TB or leprosy; it is being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for. We can cure physical diseases with medicine, but the only cure for loneliness, despair, and hopelessness is love. There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread but there are many more dying for a little love. The poverty in the West is a different kind of poverty — it is not only a poverty of loneliness but also of spirituality. There’s a hunger for love, as there is a hunger for God.
