Your heart is a cathedral

You can build external cathedrals but they will mean nothing if the cathedral of your heart is not being built.

I have a sort of fixation on heart and School of the Heart showed it. So the whole month of June is a one long meditative beginning of summer. It overlaps with the Apostles Fast so the Holy Spirit’s load is also present. Here is today’s download and below are meditations from 2022.

You can build ministry, career, and have activities that you will spend your life on and they can look very good and be admired and can be even fruitful for God’s sake, yet if you are not tending to your heart, the fruit of your work can become your idol, your signature piece, your safety, your prestige, your influence.

To give your heart to God means to enable Him to mend it, heal it, restore it, renew it, anchor it and continually send His Spirit to keep it safe.

There is no devotion to the mind of Christ.  Although Paul speaks about the renewal of mind, that’s just the beginning. That’s where the intellect that is clouded, receives Light and rewires brain, restores neurological capacity of restorative power of neuroplasticity and finds grounding in the Truth.

But there is a devotion to Jesus’ heart.  And traditionally the Church takes one whole month of June to meditate on the Heart of the Son of God which still is in its resurrected state is beating in His chest in heaven. Ezekiel prophesied the hearts of stone being transformed to the hearts of flesh. Catechism places human heart as the center of the living soul.

CCC #2563 The heart is the dwelling-place where I am, where I live; according to the Semitic or Biblical expression, the heart is the place "to which I withdraw." The heart is our hidden center, beyond the grasp of our reason and of others; only the Spirit of God can fathom the human heart and know it fully. The heart is the place of decision, deeper than our psychic drives. It is the place of truth, where we choose life or death. It is the place of encounter, because as image of God we live in relation: it is the place of covenant.

You heart is a cathedral because it’s a place made for God to dwell. To share His Light, Life and Love. Your heart as a cathedral has an altar. If success, security, control, another person, carnal pleasures are being brought to that altar, the fire consumes it all and leaves the piles of ashes. If you bring your fears, doubts, weaknesses, dilemmas, confusion, pain, hurt to that altar, the fire refines it. If you bring worship, adoration, thanksgiving, blessing, praise to that altar, it creates an incense of prayer rising to heaven.

That’s the place of the ultimate love exchange. When we lay down literally all on that altar, including broken dreams, numbers of followers, frustrations, misunderstandings, omissions, popularity, recognition, secret small sins and temperamental outbursts, the Love received from the ceter of Trinitarian Presence can create something precious, one of a kind, unrepeatable, even unspoken. Your achievements become nothing else but faint sparks on the outskirts of that Love. Contemplation of God Who IS overcomes hesitation and the beauty and glory of God Himself overshadows your little purposes and directs them toward Jesus’ heart.

P.S. Among all church dedications worldwide, the Sacred Heart is one of the most common titles, together with St. Mary / Our Lady, St. Joseph, St. Peter, Holy Cross and Holy Trinity. There are about 65 cathedrals of the Sacred Heart and over 5,000 churches.

Easter and Ascension without Pentecost would be just a memorial of God who lived among us. Long time ago. By now, who knows, if it was just mythical. Resurrection and Jesus moving to anther realm would shake many to their core and build up a religion comparable to Judaism in its supernatural stories of God’s great might. It would have many poets and writers writing beautiful songs and philosophical treatises for centuries. It would’ve many scholars comparing Jesus to other religious and spiritual leaders for ages to come. Jesus would probably be the favored one among others, His apologists claiming His story to be true. A lot oof His followers throughout centuries would probably convert to Jesus-centered Judaism, and He would remain the most controversial and most known Rabbi of Adonai. There would be some manuscripts of His life circling around and great art would be created to remember Him forever.

But with Pentecost, all has changed. Since we now, if we chose to, are being divinized daily to the state of Christ, the Anointed One, we are being renewed each day. That means, we can see as Jesus did, we can hear as Jesus did, we can feel as Jesus did, we can taste as Jesus did, we can smell as Jesus did, from the core of our spirits. That’s promised and always evolving within.

The initial in-dwelling is calm and silent for some, fiery for others, and everything on between for most. This renewal of a heart takes earthly time. Since the journey is initiated by His Spirit, The Gift Undeserved, Extravagant Giver, Cosmic Creator, Brilliant Reminder, Comforter beyond reasonable expectations, it is right that we give our full attention to the Most Mysterious Ruah as the Word of God invites us: Breathing His Presence in the rhythm of Jesus’ heartbeat.

The Spirit testifies in us what the Word of God says: ‘The Spirit and the Bride say, Come.’

Justice is more than fairness and love is more than deep affection.
Justice exists because love is real and only love makes justice desirable.
When we pray for Jesus to have mercy on us we pray for justice to be poured out in love so we can be convicted and swallowed by love at the same time. That’s the only way Jesus’ heart can love anyway.

Majesty is grandeur, greatness, elevation, honor, loftiness, excellence, dignity at its highest. Majesty is not self-indulgent, it is rightful acknowledgment of the highest value of greatness.

What’s competing with majesty for a seat on the throne? Pride. Pride is usurping the place of majesty by disguising itself in manners that might seem acceptable. Pride, paradoxically, loves to hide under humility because no one would accept blunt arrogance. Pride loves to be stuck up on its entitlement to anything it is deeply connected.

Jesus was never proud. He was majestic in His divinity. He was dignified in His humanity. He was great, honorable. He had Godly sense of Father-worth, Son-value and Spirit-mission. Majesty of Jesus came from knowing where He came from and where He will end. It came from glory upheld within His humble human soul.

Spinoza: “Pride is thinking more highly of oneself than is just, out of love for oneself” Pride ruins hearts to the core, leading to self-destruction in a world which tells you to uplift your ‘self’ above others and then above God.

In the English language there is a difference between ‘being proud’ and the ‘feeling of being proud’. Avoid the 1st one, examine the second.

Follow Jesus’ majestic sacred heart in the month of June. Become great by recognizing His majesty and hiding under it’s glory.

Even your Heart was formed by the same Spirit which was promised to those who waited.

We have been filled.
We are being filled.
We expect to be filled with your power from above, as Mary was filled. Only with your Spirit we can be sent out as witnesses. Only with your Spirit we can behold your Presence. Only with your Spirit we can follow in her footsteps, pondering all words spoken, fleeing from genocide, escaping as immigrants, living faithfully for decades expecting years of silence, going out to those who long for salvation, standing under the cross, receiving the dead and standing in awe of resurrection, being sent out with your heart of forgiveness, love and hope.

Shape us into the heart of your Mother, as you did it in her, Jesus.

Jesus

There is no other name to save

The Father is content, realized and filled with Jesus’ sonship role and mission. His primary mission on earth was to show what does it mean to be Beloved (Gr. Agapetos), personally loved by God.
We are loved not in a human but in a divine way.

Mark goes from remembering how the Father called Jesus: “YOU ARE my Beloved” at the baptism, to “THIS IS my Beloved” at the Transfiguration. What you crave first on the spiritual journey to His heart is the personal intimate knowledge that before you do or become anyone, you are already recognized as a Beloved, and no measure of success will ever change that. You are also pleasing to the Father, as His Son was, from the moment He wished for you and made you. You can grow into your belovedness by receiving the words of the Father daily. Did Jesus need hear that? Or did the Father let us all hear it forever for our sake? The latter is more possible because Jesus in His divinity had a continual communion with the Father and the Spirit from the beginnning of His humanity, starting in the womb of His Mother. With the statement came also a confirmation that the Father displeased with His Son. He is also pleased with you staying in His love that pours His belovedness from Him. Growing in belovedness is often leaving ‘self’ behind in order to receive higher call: beloved-in-God.

Transfiguration’s ‘Beloved’ came from the Father as a declaration of Jesus’ divinity, belonging to the Father in the Spirit. This declaration continually resounds within and between Them. It never stops. We also hear on the mount a voice from the cloud: “Listen to Him’. Listen to My Beloved. He will never do any wrong to you because His desire is for you, not against you. Jesus can become your Beloved as he is Father’s, if that listening will not end in hearing but in following. Following Jesus’ Belovedness is transforming us into sons and daughters and injecting in us the divine manifestationof God, where it belongs. When we start ‘manifesting’ Jesus Beloved, there is no way on earth we will fail.

🌿Eden was a garden where God dwelled in His Beauty. Adam was his chosen Creature.

⛺️Tabernacle was a tent where God dwelled in His Presence. Moses was his chosen Spokesman.

🕍Temple was a building where God dwelled in His Praises. David was His chosen Minstrel.

🫀Jesus’ heart is a space where God dwells in His Spirit. You are His chosen Friend. In His heart you can call God ‘ABBA’, and the Father will hear it from His Son’s heart. And He will answer.
