We would like to understand and immerse ourselves in the process of being transformed by the Holy Spirit, on His terms, and walk awakened to the movement of His breath after sleepless nights, when the kids are sick, when we want to stay in present moment because trusting seems too much to bare, in the days of triumphs and small victories. We want to live awakened.

Our 1st CAFE SOLO will be at Azusa location but we will discuss starting a sister group in Pasadena/Alhambra area during this meetup. Please, attend if you are interested in joining CAFE SOLO in that area for important info.

'Speaking to Sparrows' is a documentary film about women finding courage to confront the uncomfortable. The film brings to light the issues facing women in today’s world and creates space for the difficult conversations. It is these conversations that are a light in the darkness, and can lead to sisterhood, belonging and healing.

1. Why do you think men should attend a viewing of a movie portraying women's issues?

Because 50% of humans are female. 

2. What is CAFE?

We are a tribe of women participating or related to the Stone to Flesh School of the Heart who want to walk fiercely in the Father's love, submitting to the movements of the Holy Spirit and submerging our hearts in the mercy of Jesus. Through prayer, sharing intimately about our dreams and the reality, supporting each other's paths and sinking deeper into the creeds of our faith, we want to bring back the sense of wonder, wisdom and creativity to the world robbed of passionate love. We are foremost beloved daughters of the Father, and only from there we identify ourselves also as leaders, moms, creatives, wives, entrepreneurs, healers, visionaries and missionary disciples. Singles of all ages wonder why it’s so hard to meet, date and marry today. In fact, fifty percent of America is single and fewer people are committing to marriage, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2014. Dating has been replaced by “hooking up” and “hanging out,” making the traditional days of “courtship” obsolete. Or, has it?

A few years ago, one of the most popular professors of Philosophy at Boston College, Kerry Cronin, noticed this decreased dating trend among her undergrad students.  “And I thought, ‘Well, this is crazy.’  So I started asking students to go on what I refer to as ‘traditional dates’ as part of an extra-credit assignment.” However, the act of going on a date was more complicated than she thought.  A combination of the prevalent “hook up” culture, as well as the preferred method of social interaction (texting) had all but obliterated skills of basic social interaction. And, so THE DATING PROJECT began, and her class quickly became one of the most popular courses at Boston College. THE DATING PROJECT film follows Professor Cronin and five modern-day singles (ages 20 – 40) in their own quest to find authentic love and meaningful relationships.

Why are we doing it? Because we long for frequent real life connection, sisterhood, support and breakthroughs in our daily lives. Because exchanging of opinions is not enough. Because inspiration without digging deep and praying through issues is not enough. Because we long for the fullness of Jesus’ reward to be poured out NOW. He died so we can live and we want to breath His Spirit into our circumstances, families and our destiny.

What can break a heart? Is my heart broken? How can it be healed, mended, restored? Why do I feel or not feel as others? When will someone love me? How do I navigate relationships with authenticity? Is there anything wrong with my feelings? I was abused and it numbed me. How do I recover and enter into Love that is creative, resurrecting and engaging freely and without the fear of being rejected? These and many more topics will be our focus for the three first meet-ups for CaFe SoLo (CaFe stands for Catholic feminist and SoLo for so loved).
